He thought it would be a cool souvenir but it could have led to the detonation of a nuclear warhead That s some of what came to light in a hearing involving a former Minot Air Force Base airman today at the base Captain Paul Borowiecki is accused of taking home a domino-sized device that was used as part of the system of controlling nuclear missiles A supervisor testified today that Borowiecki admitted taking it home because he thought it would be a cool thing to have But the supervisor said if the technology in the device had been compromised it could have led to the detonation of a nuclear warhead Borowiecki admitted to the theft in May and returned the now-outdated device The investigating officer in the case will now write a report to recommend whether or not to pursue a court martial in the case
