Whether you donate at church give to the United Way drop change in the Salvation Army kettles or make a major donation to a foundation you re making a difference in people s lives That s the message Ken Kitzman of the Minot Area Community Foundation is spreading this Christmas season Kitzman says many non-profit groups are struggling this year and he s hoping you ll find it possible to help those groups through a tough time He points to things like food drives and giving trees as great examples of the giving nature of people of North Dakota And he thinks we should all remember that it s the people at the other end of our donations who matter Ken Kitzman Minot Area Community Foundation We always tend to talk about dollars and cents and it s not about dollars and cents It really comes down to faces and behind those gifts it always comes down to faces and there are real people that benefit from these gifts Kitzman says he s always grateful at how people in the region donate their time and money to help people in need
