He s spreading the spirit of the season one note at a time music plays Major Tim Parker works for the Salvation Army in the Twin Cities area This season Parker is traveling the state bringing Christmas cheer to every kettle location he plays at So far Parker has played in Fargo and Jamestown Today he s in Bismarck Parker spends 6 to 7 hours a day playing at each kettle He s been doing this since he was about 12 years old He says just hearing a different sound tends to make people drop a little extra change in the bucket Major Tim Parker Horn Player I noticed when I was a teenager it was anything to have to call the officer and say can you come out and get me a new bucket because we were able to fill up the bucket with so many donations So I think the music just makes it even more cheerful during the holidays And the people while they are used to the bells and so forth they appreciate hearing the music Parker is playing in Willistion tomorrow Minot on Monday and Grand Forks on Tuesday before returning home for Christmas
